Who are the Sprout Board crew?
In 2009 Jared Bouck of inventgeek.com became frustrated with the kit focus for the Arduino platform. Desiring to create a product utilizing the Arduino platform in a more professional manor he created the sprout board design team to design a clean everyday use experimenter platform.

Our group of designers and developers are a highly creative and dedicated technical team with a focus on creating meaningful projects and sharing them with the masses. With our focus on high quality open source designs, concepts and projects we continually work to refine and improve our designs with a strong community input focus.

Eccentric perhaps, obsessed absolutely. We have found that the best indicator of free flow of creative thought is both the byproduct of the nights work as well as and the condition of our work space. After many revisions and experiments we finally arrived at the sprout board V1 project and we are excited to share what we have done with you our community and supporters.

Why design the Sprout Board?
The Arduino platform is a very powerful and flexible environment for the beginner and expert microcontroller enthusiast to experiment with. There are many products on the market that utilize the shield concept of experimentation with the Arduino but until now there has not been a product that allowed the creation of permanent use projects that are clean and easy to use.

The sprout board is the first project board that was designed with both long term use as well as flexibility for experimentation all in one package. We have designed in addition to the main board chassis designs for the most common uses we could envision to make your projects have a measure of functional aesthetics as well.

Beyond just designing a board and throwing it at the masses we also are designing and developing several codebases for many project applications. These codebases are totally free to the public and have been created to help shorten the gap of the experimenter as well as to create totally complete products ready for real every day use.

What is the mission of the Sprout Board Group?
Simply put, We want to create a open source product based on existing microcontroller platforms that is flexible as a experimenter platform and has the stability and aesthetics needed for real every day use.

To support this goal we will present examples of project applications and accessory devices that easily integrate with our platform. As well as seek and utilize community input for refinements in design and application.
